Mi Experiencia en AIM en Las Filipinas (My AIM Experience in the Philippines)

Blog contribution by Iracema Rodarte, ISEP 2009

Studying in AIM is an unforgettable experience. The university itself has a great atmosphere, both because of the infrastructure and the people. The diversity of nationalities experienced here is probably what I enjoyed the most, since the student body at my school back home is not as diverse. Also the location within the Philippines is something that makes this experience greater, because the country is stunningly beautiful, and the Filipinos are one of the friendliest people I’ve met.

Something I learnt from this experience is being open minded to different cultures and opinions. I also learnt that people from different cultural backgrounds have different work styles. This helped me practice my abilities in adapting myself in order to work with them in teams.

One similarity I found interesting was the way in which the case method is implemented as compared to the one used in my university, IPADE Business School (El Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dereccion de Empresa). I find the case method to be a very effective medium for learning the practical skills needed in an MBA program.

I’m really satisfied with the time spent here. I’m taking home many fond memories, good friends and learning that will help me through my entire lifetime.
