Visitors from Bhubaneswar, India

Prof. Ricky Lim (WGSB Dean) and Prof. Juan Miguel Luz (CDM Dean) played hosts to two officials from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) who visited AIM on November 4, 2009. Prof. L.K. Vaswani (Pro-Vice Chancellor) and S. Samir Panda (Management Representative) were in the country for discussions with the International Rice Research Institute in Los Banos, Laguna and requested to meet with AIM officials as well.

KIIT started in 1992 as an industrial training institute but is now a diversified group of institutions offering academic programmes from Kindergarten to Postdoctorate level. It has 16 campuses in an idyllic setting in Bhubaneswar. Academic programmes of KIIT Group of Institutions are imparted from its constituent schools that are School of Technology, School of Computer Application, School of Biotechnology, School of Management, School of Rural Management, School of Medicine & KIIT Law School. A unique feature of KIIT is its tribal residential school for 10,000 children, believed to be the largest in India.

KIIT is looking for ways to tap AIM’s expertise in the management field and is eager to enter into partnership arrangements with AIM. Prof. Vaswani and Mr. Panda look forward to their next trip to AIM when more concrete activities can be discussed.
