Nasdaq-listed outsourcing and transformation services company ExlService Holdings, Inc. (EXL) recently chose the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) as a key training partner in line with its expansion efforts in the Asian region.
Under the partnership, AIM’s Executive Education and Lifelong Learning Center (EXCELL) will design, develop, and deliver management training programs, including a Diploma in Business Management Program and a Diploma in Management Development Program, to EXL Service through its EXL Center for Talent in Noida, India.
The Diploma in Business Management Program is an interactive training program for mid-level managers and gives them a broader management perspective through an understanding of various management principles and skills. The first batch of trainees started the program in March this year, while the second batch is scheduled to begin in May 2012.
The Diploma in Management Development Program on the other hand, was designed to deepen the cross-functional and cross-border management competencies of senior managers and hone the managerial leadership of the participants for crafting corporate strategy, organizational renewal and transformation processes. The program, which is also scheduled to start within the first half of the year, challenges the rigor of individuals and encourages collaborative thinking and action.
The EXL Center for Talent offers focused career development programs for mid-level managers to enhance their management and leadership skills, and develop a pool of leaders who will drive organizational growth in the future. EXL and AIM are also working on a training program to be conducted in the United States for U.S.-based EXL executives in the second half of 2012.
“We critically examined several aspects when we went out looking for a global training partner. We wanted the partner to deliver knowledge and skills to the participants that would equip them to successfully manage business in a dynamic environment and to delight clients through tailored and effective solutions. We partnered with AIM for its quality of course content, the rich experience that it brings through its alumni and faculty, and its ability to meet the distinct training requirements of disparate employee segments at EXL,” said Sanjay Gupta, Global Head of Human Resources, EXL Service.
The executive development arm of the Asian Institute of Management, EXCELL works to develop Asian leaders through its various degree, certificate and customized management programs. It is recognized as a leading Asian center for executive education and lifelong learning.
“AIM welcomes this opportunity to partner with EXL, the leading provider of Outsourcing and Transformation services,” said AIM Dean Dr. Ricardo Lim. “We can certainly learn from EXL’s international experience, and we at AIM can share our experience in running executive education programs in Asia for 40 years now,” he added.
On 20 March 2012, the signing of an agreement was held at the AIM Campus in Makati, Philippines with Mr. Jaideep Pradhan, SVP & Philippines Center Head of EXL; Mr. Vikas Bhalla, Head of Outsourcing of EXL; Mr. Sanjay Dutt, Vice President for Capability Development of EXL; Dr. Ricardo Lim, Dean, Asian Institute of Management; Dr. Grace Ugut, Associate Dean of the AIM Executive Education.

About the Asian Institute of Management
AIM is a pioneer in international management education. It was established in 1968 with the Harvard Business School, academicians, and businessmen. The founders envisioned AIM as a source of 21st century Asian change agents and designed the school’s master and executive programs to produce managers with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes relevant to Asia’s emerging markets. Their initiative made AIM one of the most experienced graduate schools in Asia with 39,000 alumni. While AIM is based in the Philippines, its clientele are in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Greater Mekong area. AIM is the first school in Southeast Asia to achieve accreditation from the US-based Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) based on the world’s highest international standards.
